It's not whether or not you can tow it, its CAN YOU STOP IT? It's what do you do when you have a blow out, down hill, on a curve, in the rain? A 2500 can surely tow it... it's the times you can't...

2050 from the factory... load up your trailer and 2450 seems reasonable. thats 400 lbs of weight or roughly 20%-25% of your total load therefore you have roughly 1600-2000 lbs of gear, water, food...
