My 06 3400rl had the w/d plumbed to the black tank. I called customer service to question this and the rep said they plumb it to what ever tank they want to and it was no set rule as to which one.

Maximum trailer length in most states is 53 except by permit. Since your truck is not a trailer you do not have a problem.
Combined length limit is around 70' but I cannot remember for sure.
