I like your idea OLDGI of mounting the remote next to the thermostat.
Loosing it would be a problem, a major problem. Would be nice to know where it is at all times

Never had any problems with ours. Ours also came with instructions on how to use it. We took a trip over to the coast and the weather gets quiet cold there at night. We set the thermostat and left...
