That 30 amp fuse is just a tad small for the load...We had the same issue with our 3400 and dealer replaced with 40 amp. I replaced fuse with self resetting 40 amp breaker later....

I vote for Slpi Plate...No mess..not exactally a dry lube...More like a paint with embeded graphite...You do need to clean the hitch real well before coating...Have been using it for several months...
