The leak could be somewhere else and not the microwave vent at all. Have you checked the roofs caulking above the vent especially at the roof/wall meeting point? Just stabbing in the dark here.

So what's your point? Mine sold in a fair amount of time and the buyer and I were happy with the transaction. Much easier to find someone with $ on hand to buy a 27 year old unit too.

The furnace and "furnace" setting on the thermostat has nothing whatsoever to do with the HP. You must use the "HP" setting on the thermosta to run the electric HP built in to the roof unit.
