It should just pull out with the rubber grommet molding piece. I had mine out, while wiring up some new Boogey Lights for the front cap. it went back in with no problems.

I just place a 50" smart TV on it's stand in the storage area and it works out great. When traveling, we just put it on the bed. Very easy setup.
