I had nearly the same thing happen, but after the food was done. It is fixable. At least in my case,just remove it and take off the cover. Be careful about anything electrical. (Powerful capacitor)...

Slight trim damage

Unfortunately, a boater scraped his boat along the left front corner of my front cap and damaged the trim (both the aluminum and vinyl) and took a bit of fiberglass off the cap. There are no cracks...

Congrats on the trip. I've been to AK twice. Once for a wedding and next for a "BOU" trip up east of Northwest of Glen allen. I hope to make the run in our Monty someday. Beautiful State!
