Norcold RV Refrig
This is Ed Clark had to set new account because locked myself out of the other one.
Back on 11-25-2021 HVAC went down and came here and found out needed to pull all power to reset In-Command. That worked. Also lost AC power to Norcold Frig 2118X at the same time and it will only work on Propane. Have checked and do have 110 to the back of the frig. What do I need to check on this. |
I sent a PM re your previous id.

Not familiar with your model but on mine the 110VAC terminates on the control board. From there, when the 12vdc control board tells it cooling is needed it cuts the 120vac through to the electric heating element on the refrigeration coil inside the stack. These elements do go bad. Going from memory I think that element should read something like 35 to 45 ohms. If you are fairly handy it is not a hard test or fix.

Found Problem
Thank you everyone, got up this morning and pulled the manual looked through that and found that the 110V side also has an 8amp inline fuse under the cover for the control board.
This fuse was blown after replacing the 8amp inline fuse the system started working on 110v power again. Also saw there is an inline fuse on the 12v power side as well. These are something to check when this Frig is not working properly. |
Thx for the followup.

Norcold update
Some update on the Norcold 2118, the electric side stopped working to keep the unit cold, Dealer thinks the control board might be bad.
At least the propane side is working. The dealer replaced the lower doors to get better seal, that helped some, the doors are still not square and even when closed. |
Hopefully the TS this and didnt just guess... fairly easy to TS whether the board is the issue or not..
