New 35’ 2021 3120RL Montana. Previous 30’ 5er towed effortlessly with our 2020 Ram SB SW Diesel w/Air Suspension System. First mistake, listening to RV Dealer that 2500 would easily handle the Montana.
We find crossing angled bridges and pavement height does not match the wheels crossing at different times cause the rear of the truck to sway. Some times minor yet some instances are a bit concerning.
CAT Scale results-we should be in a heavier rated truck.
Due to current garage and parking considering upgrade to a 3500 SB SW Diesel.
Truck Dealers do not seem to have experience to answer tow questions or properly pair truck to trailer as they merely check a chart that shows the rated tow capacity with no reference to ratings such as pin weight.
Some of you tow similar or larger Montanas with 3500 Single Wheel Diesel and wonder if you experience the same sway or if the 3500 eliminates that.
Experience or suggestions would be appreciated before we make a second mistake. Thanks
