Most of you probably already know or already have a list of these but thought I would post them anyway. I am sure there are a lot more.

Thanks, Linda, for a great resource. I use the Motor Carriers Road Atlas for that purpose but saved this entire page on my system as an additional resource.

I'm going to have to take another look at the two listed for US 441 in Tennessee, in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I usually take note when I see one marked too low for our house to clear but don't recall either of those being marked as that low. We've been through those numerous times in the past 7 weeks. We saw a few too low recently on the NC portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway, just south of the GSMNP, though.

Linda - Thanks for your post. Was not aware of this website and have also marked it in our favorite file. Very helpful information.

Thank you for the information. This will be very helpful I am sure.
I could have used this summer before last on Hwy 46 in Texas between
Rt I10 and Rt I35. I was taking a short cut and this underpass had no warning until I went over the hill to go under the bridge. On the side of the bridge it was marked 11'8" and that is exactly what it is and the top of my ac is too.
No damsge just scrapes on the top of the ac.
Bus TX 46 New Braunfels- 1.7 miles northeast of I-35 12'0"

For any who want to have access to this info when perhaps an internet connection is not available or in case they shut down the site --- you can save it on your desktop or whichever folder you prefer. This one is all on one webpage, which makes it easy.

I only know how to do this in internet explorer. -- File/Save As, then navigate to where you want to save it, give it whatever name you want, make sure the 'Save as Type' is 'Web Page Comlete', then click the Save button. Now you can open that page by doubleclicking the htm file you just saved and can do it even when not on the internet. Or rename '.mht' to '.htm' and I think it will open in any browser (not sure about other than IE).

Alternatively, you can chose 'save as type' 'web archive, single file' and it will save it all in a single file. The other way saves a file plus a folder with files in it. The archive (.mht file) can only be opened by Internet Explorer. HOWEVER, if you use Outlook Express for email, you can rename that archive file to change the ".mht" to ".eml" and then doubleclick it and it opens as an email, which you can then forward if you want. It works in reverse, also. .eml to .mht opens the email in Internet Explorer.

Steve,

I belive the clearance for the tunel on 441 is low on the side but 13' in the center area.
The trick is to go through the middle of the tunel without meeting another car coming the other way.

Thanks, awaywego.

By the way, did you measure your 3280? I just doublechecked the 2001 specs because I thought your Montana is the same heighth as ours, 12' 8", not 11' 8". Ours measures an inch less than the specs, so 12' 7". I think you might have got lucky on getting under that bridge or maybe the bridges are higher than advertised. Just thought I'd mention it for your future travels. Sure would hate to see you get stuck or rip the top off.

A good friend of ours in California bought a brand new Travel Supreme Express a few years ago and towed it home from the Indiana dealer. On the way he misjudged the height of a gas station canopy and stuck it under the canopy. He could not back up and had no choice but to continue forward. It tore off both AC units. Brand new rig. That would make me cry.

Steve,
Opps I had a senior moment. I checked the sticker on the truck and you were right 12'8".
Just think of all the things I could have wiped out.
Thanks for reminding me.

I wondered about that since the Keystone specs say 12' 8". Ours is an early 2003, before the flat floor upstairs, so we have the two levels like you do. When they went to the flat floor in late 2003 the height went up to 12' 11", according to the brochure. The 2005 specs show 12' 9". Someone told me that's because they went to the low profile "penguin" AC unit. I get really paranoid about low hanging branches, etc. I always think they are lower than they really are. I guess that's preferred over the opposite. I'd sure like to have that taller basement the flat floor models have. Sigh.

Thanks for the information. Have also added it to our favorites list. Was happy to have it - discovered the route we usually take to the Oregon coast won't work for the Monty.

Many thanks! We came across a 13'9" this weekend on Hwy 290 (Austin to Houston). That's about the lowest we've seen so far, and it sure made me nervous...... Glad to have the list!!
