Currently in Roswell at the Town & Country Rv Park - leaving tomorrow and heading to Las Cruces, New Mexico for two nights at the Hacienda Rv Resort then on to Tombstone -- looking at staying a week at the Tombstone Territories RV Park -- has anyone been to that park or does anyone know of any other parks in that area? Roswell is a very interesting area - so much to explore -- we will probably be returing to this area again next year.:D

You are right, we are having a great time -- Roswell is a beautiful area -- desert and mountains -- wow. Very friendly people - this is a good park to use as a home base. We have taken a couple of day trips but we are running out of time -- have to move on but we will be back. Had lunch at the Golden Corral here -- thanks for introducing us to this restaurant chain.:D

You guys are most welcome! Was our pleasure, and am enjoying hearing about your trip, besides, it gives us one more couple to ask questions of when we get our chance to head that way! :D

Les and Julie:

That is a real nice campground. It ia a Passport America Park. This park is @10 miles out of town. We have stayed there several times. We have relatives in Tombstone. There are 3 campgrounds in Tombstone. We have stayed at the Stampede campground. The other 2 we have not. They don't have much to do at them, sort of a good place to camp. The town is real interesting place to visit. Lots of history there.

Sounds like you are having a great time. We hope to be out in that area sometime in the fall of this year. My grandparents lived in that area for years and really did enjoy it. Safe travels to you and we look forward to seeing you on the road again.

While you are there don't forget to visit Bisbee. It's a real neat old mining town. The weather has finally broken here and should be in the 80's by Wed.

In Bisbee, there is an old hotel, remodeled, called the Copper Queen. Excellent restaurant there, and interesting area to visit/tour.

Best,

Thanks guys for all the great suggestions -- we are heading to Tombstone tomorrow morning. Will let you know which campground we chose - debating between Stampede and Tombstone Territories. We have really enjoyed Las Cruces and Hacienda RV Resort is very nice - privacy fences between each lot, spaces level and wide, beautiful lounge and great complimentary breakfasts, etc. etc.

Probably a bit late here, but just got to Albuquerque (and access to a computer) after spending several nights at Tombstone Territories RV Park. It was a fantastic spot. Passport America gives a wonderful discount, the owner is a really nice guy, people are so friendly and helpful, spaces are all drive through, you get an escort to your site, and the sites are wide and everything is sooooo clean. Friday nights is "hoot-n-anny" and it is a hoot!! Besides Tombstone (with a liquid refreshment at Big Nose Kate's Saloon), do Bisbee (recommend the $10.00 trolley tour, and lunch on the front porch of the Copper Queen hotel, and the mine tour). In addition Sierra Vista is great for a day along with a day in Willcox with a visit to Far Away Ranch area and Fort Bowie. As you may be able to tell, we loved the area.
