Kind of a newbie question... Iím researching various makes and models and have an axle weight question.
I understand GCVR-CCC=Dry weight.
Question is why do the manufacturers install axles that the GCVR exceeds?
For instance a 5er with a GCVR of 16,500 has 2x7,000 axles.
Isnít that extra weight over 14k a problem when youíre loaded up and going down the road?
(Or for that matter when youíre fully loaded and sitting at a campsite
🤔

That other 2500 is on the Pin and carried by the trucks axles. Actually the pin will generally be closer to 3200, so less than 14000 on the axles.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I wondered about that. But when youíre loaded up and a a campsite youíre not connected to the truck. Is that when the jacks/levelers are supposed to relieve the weight on the axles?

Your front legs/landing gear replaces the truck in supporting the extra weight.
