I'm sure this question has come up before, but after reading lots of posts I want to upgrade the 235/80 R16 E tires to quality G load rated tires but they all seem to be 235/85 R16 G . Keystone won't provide any advice as their unit is designed for 235/80 tires.
Has anyone switched to a 235/85 G on a Montana 3150 RL? New to the forum and just getting ready for our 2nd year as snowbirds and RV'rs.

I believe our 614's are 235/85 and we've run them for several years with no problems.

We run 235/85R16s , no issues.

On our rig, the Goodyear G614 235/85 R16 14 ply tire was an option, using the same wheels, which are rated 110 psi and 3750 lbs load rating. Even though it was an option, and being unaware of the Marabomb issues, we took possession of our Montana. After 5 tire failures, none blowouts, we finally upgraded to the G614's almost a year ago, with absolutely no problems. Keystone will not comment about those tires, as that would be an admission that they knew the 10 ply tires were a problem.

Thanks for the information, my main concern is clearance in the wheel wells and between the axles due to the increased tire diameter and width. If I know that any of you upgraded from Marathon 235/80 R16 E to the G614 235/85 R16 on a 3150 RL I will feel confident ordering these expensive tires.

Having been to the factory and seen how they're built, from the fame up, three different times I can't believe the clearances are different on any of the models.

That's good to know, did your 3665RE have 235/80's on it originally.

If the G614's are only 1 inch larger in diameter, although the Goodyear site says they are the same as the Marathons, that means they will only be 1 inch closer between the tires, and only 1/2 inch higher into the wheel opening. Pretty sure there is at least that much extra room for the tires on these rigs. They are also a bit wider than the Marathons, but so far on our rig, the wheel opening trim is still there.

That's good enough for me Bob, I am taking the plunge, putting in my order today. Hopefully this will end my tire problems.
Thanks everyone!!
