Any members have any experience with this brand of tire. Looking down the road to replace my marathons and the Goodyear 614 are so....so...expensive. The rating of the Sailun tire, 3750#@110 psi will do the job nicely and 38% cheaper than the GR 614s. I can get a set of 4 delivered to my door for $800.00, and at that price, if they are good, make it well worth it in my opinion. It would be nice to have an alternative to the pricey Goodyear 614s.

Lastly, are there any other alternatives that members know of? I weigh too much for LTs.....

While I haven't used the Sailun myself, I've read nothing but good reviews about the S637.

The Sailun S637 is fairly new relative to the G614s. I have read a fair amount about them so as to be prepared when I have to replace my G614s. There are some early users over on RV.net who are using them. No bad things have been reported yet.

They are made in China, but so far I have heard positive reports about them. They are all about making a quality tire for the money. I have no experience with them and still looking. So far they are on my short list.

Thanks bigskyjimmy, I will check out the Geostar G574 too. I love options.

Besides being good tires, for those of us who travel the country they also have to be readily available across the country. Even if the tires hold up, road hazards can still cause a need for replacements at hard to predict times and places. How available are either of these tires?

I thought about the Sailun tires before I bought the G614's. There not available and hard to find at most places even on line, if you need a replacement tire for any reason. The G614 are stocked at all the CW's and other Rv dealers. It's for that reason alone that I went with the G614's. Peace of mind.

I have put approx. 30,000 miles on my Sailuns and have seen numerous trailers with them on. I had only a minor problem with them, and it seems to be very common on all the tires I have seen. The outside tread and the inside tread both wear down really fast. When I changed mine out the treads on all 4 tires were the same. Right down below the wear bar and on one it was very close to the cords when I changed it out just this month. I have been to Rallies that have had several trailers with them on and its the same on every one. First guess is under inflated, but mine have been kept at the max 110 lbs. And I am not overweight enough to make this difference. I just come to the conclusion that it was the tire itself. I replaced with the G 614's.

I too will look at them when the time comes, At present I am running G614's, but in the spring of 2010 they were more then a 100 dollars a piece cheaper then they are today. Sailun would be about the same as I payed in 2010 for the G614's.

The one good thing about the G614's if you have a tire failure, and have trailer damage they will pay for the damage. I am wondering if Sailun would be the same. I am willing to risk it from the good reports I have heard about them.

Hi Jim, If you haven't purchased your tires yet and there's an Americas tire in your area give them a call. Here in Bakersfield CA Les Schwabs just opened two stores. I'm looking to replace our Marathons with a good G rated tire and after reading your post I stopped by Les Schwabs for a quote. For a set of the GeoStar G574s mounted and balanced they quoted me $1210.57 out the door but with a $100.00 off coupon from their grand opening it was just over $1100.00. Just for kicks I called Americas Tire. Their mounted and balanced out the door price is $948.00. Not bad huh? After researching the Geostar I plan have them installed just before our 3 week trip to Crescent City. Safe travels...

We also installed the Geostar 574 and have about 13k on them, so far so good, still look new and also bought them from Les Schwab. On ebay on found 2 more for $191.00 ea. with free shipping for spares, the date code showed them to only be 2 months old, happy with that purchase...

Anyone experience any suspension travel/rubbing issues after going to the 235/85 "g" rated tires?
