Mary and I and the whole family have lost a true and loyal friend! "Bear" our dachshund/beagle mix passed on to the fields in the sky so he could see and run free with his best friend "Brownie" that died about 10 years ago! Bear lead a long and good life of 18 years and will be missed by all of us. Some of you met Bear at the Central Plains Rally last year! Put Bear in your prayers and wish him a good time where ever he has gone!

Ron & Mary, Kathy and I are so sorry for your loss. We know what you are going through as we went through this a few years ago and it broke our hearts. First time I had cried in a long time, it will get better though. We will be in your area through part of June and July, I will call you.

Rondo, just read your post....so sorry about your loss. As several above mentioned, we too lost a very loved cocker we named Angel. We picked her up from a local rescue center. Before our loss we never realized how much room she occupied in our heart. Your "Bear" is still around, just listen....we know....Angel met him at the gate. Blessings, D

Sorry you lost your puppy. I know the feeling and it's a very tough loss.
Unconditional love is so rare in humans yet our beloved pets come by it naturally and give it so freely. That's what makes them so special.
Will Rogers once said "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.". It's one of my favorite quotes.

Ron and Mary,

So sorry for your loss, here is the Rainbow Bridge saying, it always helps me.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown..."

Thanks to all of you that have responded to this thread! We know it will take some time to recover from Bear not being around. Even though he was 18 years old (126 in dog years) he was always loyal. He was always at our feet while we were eating or watching TV. He slept in his own bed in our bedroom and snored to beat the bang! Just little things that keep coming to mind while we are trying to get over his lost!

Sorry to hear about your loss.

You two will be in our prayers.

We have also been there, and have gradually made it through that time. Cherish the memories that you have, and let them help with the healing process.
God Bless you both.

Louise and I also express our mutual sorrow for your loss. Maybe Bear and Casey can go chase some deer together.
