Anyone want to buy a slightly damaged 2007 3075 RL. Ours is laying on it's side in the median of I-80 just west of Laramie, A truck passed us in the middle of a blinding snow storm and the Monty started to fishtail and spun us sideways into the median and then rolled on it's side.

Gail and I are fine not hurt at all. The truck and Monty are beiing towed into Laramie and then hopefully we will be told the truck is drivable so be can continue homeward. We will be leaving the Monty in Laramie for an adjuster to look at. I hope they total it but we will see.

More later as we learn whats happening.

The important thing is that you and your wife are ok! Things can be replaced, lives cannot!

Wow, that sucks big time! We are glad to hear you and Gail are fine. I assume the trailer drug the truck onto it's side too. Hopefully you have just sheet metal damage on the truck. Good thing there is a new 3400 waiting for you at home.

Maybe having the keys locked inside the truck was an omen?

Update:

After seeing the Monte after they turned it right side up I am amost certain it will be a total. Just hope they will give us what are trade in was going to be.

Not much damage to the truck. Have to replace the right bed side and the floor of the bed and the tailgate but the rest looks OK.

The SuperGlide hitch looks repareable. We'll see.

For now we will go to the yard tomorrow and get what we can out of the Monty and head for home.

From your description, I gather the hitch let go and didn't drag the truck over with the trailer. That's really good news as the bed is easily replaced, and more importantly, the unique Montana decals on the side of the truck are still intact.

If it is a total (let's hope it is), it seems like the value has already been established. Ergo - trade-in value = insurance value.

Don and Gail,
I am shocked and saddened to learn of your accident. We are so happy to know that you and Gail suffered no injuries. I do hope you get the full value you expected. And now I'm happy you were not able to get the new rig in time to drag to Texas! I wish we were closer so we could help but travel safely on your way home.

First of all ... Steve and I are so glad we met you and Gail at the Rally.

Secondly ... sooooooooooooooo glad you two are okay ... and your vehicle is drivable. Assume you haven't been able to determine the status/salvageability (is that a word?) of the stuff inside (including the basement).

OMG, we also are happy to hear that you and Gail did not get hurt in that accident. What a thing to have happen to you after enjoying such a nice rally. Was it the wind from the truck that caused the Montana to start fish tailing? Take care driving the rest of the way home.

Sad to hear this but the great thing was that everyone came thru this unhurt. The Montana can be replaced and the Truck can be repaired. We must be very careful when the roads are wet or in snow. Large Trucks shed dirty air and can cause turbulence and I'm sure you have experienced the same thing. Good Luck guys and the days will be brighter for you. GBY.....

Just when you least expect it life can really throw you a curve ball and yours was a biggie. So glad to here you both are okay as anything else just doesn't matter. On the bright side I am thinking you might be able to swing an even better deal on that 3400 without a trade, just hope the dealer rewrites the contract fairly.

So glad you guys are OK. Don't count on repairing that hitch. On our way back from Quartzsite my latch didn't latch on the superglide. The hitch walked all the way back and the handle hit the tailgate. Got everything straightened out and made it home from Las Vegas safely. AAA sent me to the body shop and they wanted to replace the whole hitch. The owner said there was too much liability to repair or replace the handle on the hitch. $5700.00 later I have a new tailgate and brand new 3600 Superglide hitch. You may find yourself in the same boat. If your truck frame got stressed they may not want to let you pull your new rig with the old truck. Good luck with everything.

Oh my goodness, Don! What a terrible accident, but what a wonderful outcome since neither you nor Gail were hurt. Just visualizing what happened makes me slightly faint.

We, as fellow 3075 owners, are so sorry for you. It must have been a very frightening exprience. It would be very helpful for us fellow MOC-ers to hear how you make out dealing with insurance company, towing company, replacement, etc. I'm sure you will have plenty of good info to pass along. May you never have to go through it again.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad to hear you guys made it through without getting hurt. My wife and I being in a horrific crash ourselves, I know how terrifying it can be. God was watching over you to go through that without a scratch.

That is terrible, glad you are both safe. You won't have to sell the monty when you get your new one and insurance should help ease the pain. Be sure to work with your agent to get a good resolution from the insurance company.

I am glad to here you are ok and only replacable parts are hurt. Pulling a trailer on ice is scary by itself it must have been horrible to have it fishtail and turn over. Thankful you are not hurt the rest can be replaced. GBY.
