Seen this and couldn’t resist the temptation to take this photo. What do you see wrong with it? If you have any funny or odd road signs post them here.

Childern????? What's a childern??????? Funny!!! I posted one a while back that said: Only Neutered males and children over 12 allowed!! It was a sign on a dog park!!!!

Plus the use of the word "Park" is a bit vague. So do you park your vehicle on the childern as a parking lot, or do you honor the place where the childern are playing in a recreational park? How did the phrase go in the insurance claim, "I had to swerve a number of times before I hit the poor child".
I think the saddest, most pathetic traffic signs I have seen are the yellow caution signs on the 12 lanes of the north and southbound lanes of I-5 freeway near the border of San Diego & Mexico depicting a silhouetted mother in a dress quickly dragging two small children across the freeway lanes. True story, folks. It's very close to the border check on the U.S. side. It implies watch for fleeing illegal pedestrians running across traffic to avoid the border check.

Ok, we saw this in someone’s front yard. Yesterday afternoon we went for a drive and often when we do this we wind up on back roads or up at the end of some hollow. We didn’t hear any banjo music but evidently we picked a good day to take the photo; after all the odds were in our favor.

I have always been amused by the bridge load limit signs in KY. No picture, but they go something like this:
MAX LOAD 25,000 LB, - EXCEPT FOR COAL TRUCKS.
(Coal trucks don't break bridges? - or is there some other explanation that escapes me?)

Did you ever figure out the one that says-
CAUTION
SLOW CHILDREN
AT
PLAY.
Now, I'm not sure if you need to go slow, or?

Steve,
The word CHILDREN is misspelled. On the sign it is childErn. That's all I could figure out.

Yes, I caught that Dennis. I was making light of the other sign seen quite often in neighborhoods.

I think most everybody used to say "skid tires on pavement" or "stop, take off p..." when coming to a STOP sign. And Vicki doesn't like it when I reach over and put my hand on top of her head and turn it when I see a "Turn Ahead" sign.
Back in our vacation days there was a temporary sign on the PA turnpike while they were reworking an exit. The sign said "Turn here for Intercourse." Intercourse, PA, that is. I long have wished we'd stopped and taken a picture.

Glenn, was that "School Crossing" an actual sign? I have seen "Children Crossing" and even "School Children Crossing" but not that one. Maybe it's a school on wheels and could cross your path.
LOL, Sriegel, Intercourse, PA is a real place! It's east of Harrisburg a few miles north of Hwy 30. I guess if you go there for anything, expect to get screwed. No, I didn't just say that. Sorry, couldn't resist.

We also stood in the phone booth on the porch at the Zimmerman and Sons store, the same phone booth Harrison Ford used in the movie "Witness." That's not in that postcard, though. We do have a picture of it on my computer, though.

Glenn,
I did see a school crossing once. When I was a teenager, they actually moved a school building a block from where it originally was.

While traveling through Mississippi on Hwy 49, the speed limit is 65 MPH. Coming to a school zone, it states, 55 MPH? Not much different..kids don't have a chance!
Most school zones are 20 MPH when children are present.

Anyone here been around as long as me and remember the braille buttons on the bank drive up windows??? I've seen some of those guys on the road. Actually I believe one even refereed a football game I played in once. After the specific call I am thinking about, I should have asked him if he was one of those guys that used the funny dimpled buttons at the bank drive through...
Might have been my last play of that game though...

This was not on a road sign but was the name of a bank in Batesville, IN.
"Fifth Third Bank"
I wonder what happened to the other four, including the First and Second banks?

In California they changed the signs that said, "Drunk Drivers call 911." (I wonder if drunk drivers were calling 911 and asking what they wanted." Now the signs say, "Report Drunk Drivers call 911."

At a popular begging site in Portsmouth, Ohio, someone posted this sign. I don't believe it’s an official sign but it gets the point across very well.
The sign reads
"Beggers Corner
Will Not Work...
Just Want
$$$$"

Bellevue, Ohio used to have a sign as you came into town on Rt. 18 that said "Noisy mufflers will be arrested."

I saw it in Lucasville, OH. It appears to be up-side –down.
With just a guess, I would say it was flipped over instead of being replaced or moved when the business left. There is a pizza shop there now.
