First trip with our Montana

Finally after purchasing our Montana 4 months ago we are making the maiden voyage. It's kinda for work and the Great American Eclipse as I have to work in the Stanley Idaho area. This should be a good test run before our Yellowstone trip right after Labor Day and possibly a Northern Idaho run after leaving Yellowstone (all depends on how Little Miss Daisy does)!!!

we've camped at this park 3 times, you can see the north entrance to Yellowstone from the campground, very nice place. plus you can see how long the line is to the entrance and head out when it clears a bit.

First BIG TRIP in 3730FL

We just returned from 3500 mile trip from Menifee, CA to Salt Lake City, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier NPs, then straight home. A great trip with no significant problems. 2017 F250, SRW, 6.7L diesel, Anderson Ultimate hitch. F250 pulled very well, didn't know trailer was there most of the time. F250 is completely adequate, and found no need for DRW. Nicest KOA we have ever stayed at was in West Glacier, MT. Excellent spots, fully landscaped, with very nice patios, BBQ at each site.

The only nerve wracking problem we had was with the Dish/King Tailgater antenna and Wally boxes. Took about 7 hours on telephone with Dish techs, and several threats from the wife before we finally got it up and running regularly and reliably. Going to go to other string to discuss. Would never buy it again.

Best time on trip: Road to the Sun road, in Glacier NP, and the beautiful view from our table at lunch in the Many Glacier Lodge. Amazing!

First trip went smooth. Trailer worked out nearly perfectly. Figured out before our Yellowstone trip that the batteries it came with needed replacing.

New batteries are installed and it's better than ever before.

Good Park in Glacier

We stayed at the West Glacier KOA. Absolutely the best place we ever parked. We had a patio site, it was $85, but well worth it--I've paid more for much less! Make a res well in advance if you want to stay there. It is about 3-4 miles from park entrance. ("Going to the Sun" road entrance) Highly recommend the restaurant in the KOA for dinner. They have nice pools, ice cream store, all the comforts of home.

While in the Glacier NP area, take the time to go to the East Glacier area and visit the Many Glacier lodge at lunch time, and treat your wife to a lake-view window table.
