Almost did it.

After fifth wheeling since 2001, in a hurry this morning, got in the truck to unhitch. Wife said, did you put the legs down? I had not. Do have one of the last blue ox bedsavers for the Curt hitch, but would rather not have to test it. Score one for the wife.

Brian and I faithfully do the "did you" routine. The older we get, the more I believe that "two heads are better than one".

I knew we kept them around for a reason. Just kidding, the older we get I need to make a check list for everything. Some times when I get in a hurry even the basic items can get over looked. Glad the wife was there for you.

You owe that lady!
A lesson learned that cost you nothing. Thanks for the reminder and reality check that none of us are 100% all the time.

I don't blame it all on us getting older. Many things can distract us or cause our attention to wander when we are setting up or taking down and it doesn't take much to cause a disaster. Two heads are always better than one so having a team mate is a wonderful thing.

Way to go for the wife. When we are doing the "serious" stuff my wife is very methodical, some time to the point that its irritating, but she has saved my bacon several times too! Also I don't want to BS with any other campers during these "serious" maneuvers.
So far so good! Happy Camping!

My wife checks everything and I appreciate it. Despite "What I used to be able to do myself", I want/need her to check everything - much cheaper after I started to forget occasionally. My wife has saved the TV antenna several times!

This is but another reason I absolutely love my Andersen Ultimate 5th-wheel hitch. It is impossible to disconnect without dropping the landing gear and raising the trailer up off the hitch. I have enough to worry about and I'm sure I would forget sooner or later if I had an old-school hitch.

I’ve heard it said that there are two kinds of drivers “Those that have dropped them and those that will.” I have a bed saver on ours and it really gives peace of mind just driving down the road. Glad you caught it before there was any damage. Way to go to your wife!
