Gonna check out a 2011 3580RL

Although we had intended to go with something a bit shorter (3150?) we really like the floorplan of the 3580 so much that we decided the additional length would be a good tradeoff. We love the floorspace and counter space and larger 4 door fridge!
Found a nice one with washer and dryer, 2nd A/C and king bed.
We're going to see it this weekend and decide after a thorough inspection...need to find a good PDI list!
Also would order a set of G614 tires to have installed before taking it off the lot (it's at a dealer).
We will finally have more time to travel and may also live in it for a while as we sell our home and look for another one.

get the VIN number off the unit then call Owners relations at Keystone and have then run the VIN .There should be a record of repairs if any.

Thanks Chris...looks very clean and has some nice options so we are excited to see it in person.
Hoping it all checks out OK, we were a bit hesitant to buy pre-owned but just couldn't swing the $$$ for new at this time...

Thanks Mike...just to clarify, we haven't bought it yet though. It is looking promising however. I will post a couple of pics after we check it out Friday-Sat.
BTW, the trailer in my sig pic is our old trailer (sold). I will need to update that soon possibly!

Mike,

Our previous Montana was a 2011 3580RL. We loved it. When they made some of the changes to the newer 3582RL we also liked that one but when the "original" 3610RL model came out it knocked our socks off and we traded in the 3580.

Good luck and hope it all works out for you should you chose to put your name on the title!

Les

Thanks Les! Wish I had a chance to buy your 3580...with all the bells and whistles you added! Glad to hear good feedback!
I may tap into your database of knowledge on some of that if and when we get ours...

Good luck. If you hit the Home button, you will find PDI's there. If you have trouble, email me and I will send it. Make sure to customize for your unit. For example, add washer and dryer to it. Also, I would ask to talk to the previous owners. I know that I would be happy to tslk to anyone buying our old unit.

OK, so we checked out this 2011 Montana 3580 this afternoon and we really like it!
Great condition inside and out. The biggest disappointment was the two recliners which seem to be upholstered with some kind of dark brown terry cloth (think wash cloth) material. Not too impressive to say the least.
BUT...we really like the floor plan a lot and the price is great too. Has ducted 2nd A/C, Splendide Ariston washer and dryer. Also has king bed and some misc. options.
Overall very clean, graphics are quite nice. Only 1 Interstate 12v battery which obviously needs upgrading at some point. Also the Carlisle tires are gonna go bye bye!
Going over it again with my PDI list tomorrow and give the dealer a list of things that we want addressed.
Not 100% sure yet, but I'm thinking this might work for us!
Thanks for any helpful suggestions on thing to look for or ask about...

Heck, don't let the chairs get in the way of a good deal. Maybe you can negotiate the tires since you haven't yet pulled the trigger. Knowing what I know now (thanks MOC) about tires, I wouldn't pull it off the lot without G's. Sounds like an awesome unit to me. Good luck in your wheeling and dealing. And, keep us informed.

Well, we've made a commitment to buy the 3580! Great little dealership in Scottsdale AZ and the guy we dealt with was awesome! Not "just" an RV salesman, but a qualified tech who really knows trailers inside and out. No pressure, very helpful...highly recommend this place!
Got a few issues to take care of before I head back with the truck to pick it up. Minor stuff mostly except for the awning which is some weird greenish color (obviously not O.E.M.) but they agreed to replace it at no additional cost!
My wife is excited to get the washer and dryer and it has window awnings on the slide windows (NOT slide toppers). Also includes the front skirt (pinbox area, not sure what they're called) for storage area. Also has fitted shades for most of the other windows including the big picture window in back.
Yes, we will be replacing the recliners ASAP, but at the price we paid...I don't mind at all.
I will probably tow it home on the Carlisle tires (about 400 miles) but will take the TST pressure monitors with me and install before the trip home. Then replace them with the G614s once I get back home. Need to figure out the best battery/solar panel setup too.
Looking forward to our first trip in the "new" RV!

Thanks Ron! I hope so too...time will tell. Should be a lot more comfy for the two of us than the bunkhouse model we sold!
BTW, congrats on your recent retirement, been exactly 5 years for me (retired young! )

Excellent news Mike. Wish you lots of safe travels and I am sure you will enjoy that rig. One thing when home is to make sure you sanitize the water system since it has been sitting. The other thing is to check all electrical connections to make sure they are all tight. Loose connections especially 12V can lead to serious issues.

Safe travels,

Les

Great advice, thanks! Ya, I realize there are some different considerations buying used as opposed to new like we did last time. The dealer I am buying from will do a very good job with their PDI process I'm sure. The tech who helped us seemed quite thorough and knowledgeable.
I will add the items you mentioned to my list for him to take care of.
