Montanas grow taller?

Can anyone explain why for 2015 all the Montanas are stated at 13'5" tall while last year they were 12'11". Even the few old models left are stated the same new way.

I know with our 3610 it is definitely not 13'5", what changed?

1suspect it is because most folks are getting the second AC.

At the RV show, I kept looking up at them and asking Sue about whether she thinks they are taller, I thought they were, just eyeballing them.

Must be the helium technology. They could be floating higher off the groun, now. Maybe they're just covering their butt since they are now approaching the maximum vehicle heights for some states (doesn't Colorado have a max height of 13.5"?) Increasing the aware or some such things, or just ask Montana.

The new heights a deal breaker for us since we keep ours in our garage at 12'6" with a few inches to spare. We personally feel we don't want anything taller than that. 12'6" is tall enough IMO

My thoughts are that if a new monty went deep into your desire range, Bill, you would be making more garage room to house it...or you could just go full time and not worry about a garage at all...or just jack that garage up a bit. John

I would guess the 13'-5" is the height with second AC installed since the federal interstate highway limit is specified at 13'-6". If they were 13'-5" without the AC they would be over the legal if Keystone installed a second AC. A question would be is that a standard AC or low profile?

But I would also guess the 13'-5" is measured with the frame exactly parallel to the ground. For us with newer trucks with 4x4 and maybe 20" wheels and running slightly nose high, just how high would the new Montes be.

If I get a new I will have to rethink that underpass in Dalhart.

It must have something to do with the second air in front. Mine is listed as 12'11". I tow nose high and I am right at 13'5". On one hand my G614's could have raised it close to an inch, but on the other hand over 2,000 pounds of cargo should have pushed it back down a little from the factory height.

You see we don't have the 2nd air and prefer the fantastic vent in the bedroom. I suppose so many units are now coming with it Keystone has decided to cover their but and perhaps more are now sold with the 2nd air than not???

Perhaps Keystone will start adding the ladder and the protruding part of the pin box to their length specs next.

My 3155 measures 38 feet from back of ladder to tip of front cap. Listed at 35.5.
Would not fit in the building I used to store it in. Would have fit if not for the front AC.
Haven't measured the hight but I would guess it's more than the listed 12' 11".

Your Big Sky has to Tow good setting a little bit lower in the front. I like for mine to set like that.

I wonder if the 12" frame has resulted in some of the increase.

Jcurtis lol your probably right, if we got the new montana bug we would figure something out. When we bought the Big Sky we had to add on a bump out to the garage to make it work. But IMO they're getting to tall.

Picked up my new Montana on Saturday. Thanks to all of the great advice here on moC I measured before we left the dealer 13' 5" to top of front AC. I will probably drop my hitch plate a couple inches or raise the pin up one bolt hole as I am a little bit high in front. Any recommendations for how low I should go in front? Bed to trailer height recommendation?
