Don't know if you have considered this or not, but when we come down from central Illinois to Ft. Myers we split off of I-65 at Montgomery and use U.S. Rt. 231 to cut down to I-10, then over to I-75. It doesn't add very many more miles, is more scenic, less traffic, about 95% 4-lane divided with new pavement, and less steep grades. The downside is that you do go through a few towns which will slow you down, but we are never in a hurry anyway.

We have tried many CG's on the way down, this year we used a couple different ones. At the edge of Montgomery, just before getting on Rt. 231 you will find The Woods RV Park. It is a little run down but clean. Not the best part of town but the pull through sites are about 150' long, wide, and gravel. I think with a discount it was about $28.00 per night.

We tried Tallahassee RV also this year. Nice looking CG with a lot of tall trees. Very long but narrow pull through sites. It was closer to $40 per night. Of course both of these would only be applicable if you were actually coming down Rt. 231 through Alabama.

At exit 306 in northern georgia is Harvest Moon, which has very wide and long pull throughs...free laundry. Free popcorn upon arrival. Much friendlier than the koa at exit 296 on cassville-white road, although haven't stayed at it since new management took over. John

Is there a good online source for finding info on RV/campgrounds that has reviews of actual campers instead of just what the owners of the RV park say?

I looked it up in the App Store and it looks good, but it's $9.99. Is it worth it?
