Happy Independence Day 2012

The annual Independence Day 50 Gun Salute to the Nation by the United States Army's elite Presidential Salute Battery of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) at Fort Myer, VA. The "guns" are WWII vintage M5 3-inch anti-tank (field) guns (not cannon) firing 75mm blank cartridges containing 1.5 lbs. of black powder. The gun closest to the camera is a back-up gun that fires on command only when another misfires - note the rare occurrence in the video.
