Update on the portable dishwasher

I previously posted that the family was the new recipient of a portable Frigidaire dishwasher for new 3750FL. After eight nights at the beach, I am pleased to report that the dishwasher addition can now be referred to as a complete success. Forewarning though, if you are considering going this route, the one we got is about the smallest out there and even it is 20" wide by 30" deep. On our floor plan, it fit perfectly between the fridge location and the dining room slide. Then it could be wheeled the short 3 foot to the sink for it's use. There is no way that we could have had it in the 3400 but it is a perfect match for the 3750. The only drawback that I have is with the Delta faucet that I installed. I am dumbfounded that a lifetime warranty faucet would be equipped with plastic threads for the aerator insert where the dishwasher quick-connect installs. Time will tell as to how the plastic threads will hold up.

Bingo,
We are in the Northwest and it doesn't stop raining! Our "portable" dishwasher works as follows; open door, hold dishes outside for 5 minutes, return them inside and dry, repeat as necessary until complete. Enjoying our second grandson born almost two weeks ago. Best wishes to you and family and enjoy the new Monty.

I installed a 4 setting portable dishwasher in the 3400 this summer. The wife loves it. I installed it under the kitchen sink. Perfect place since all connections were right there. We did not have to give up any counter space and I am not being asked to move it.

Now before I made it a perminate install under the sink I did have problems with the plastic threads for the artier. At 60psi the quick connect would come off.

All you rich folks... what the heck is so demanding on our time that we can't scrub 2 plates and a bowl... Just kidding, I may try and figure out how to surprise sweet Sue with one some day.

RickW, what brand/model dishwasher did you install in your 3400?

Danby Countertop Dishwasher

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...89&marketID=16

My wife did all the research and picked this one. I know she did not pay that much for it. I seem to remember she paid $199 for it.

To install under the sink of the 3400 I had to remove the center post for the doors under the sink on the kitchen side of the island. I then re-plumbed the drains for the sink so that the trap was to the side of the dishwasher (not enough room over the dishwasher). Needed a few fittings to make the water connections from a plumbing supply (Home Depot did not have what I needed with out using several different fittings). For electric I changed out the single outlet plug for the central vac and replaced it with a standard double plug outlet. The cord reached with out the need to extend it.

Next time I am over at the trailer I will take a few photos.

Has anyone put a dishwasher in a 3400 in the peninsula above the water heater, not under the sink?
I would rather give up that space, rough calculations look like it would fit but not sure.
