We put a twist on gate valve on our sewer boom:

As a new owner, I'd love Michael of Michael & Kat to come and modify my 2011 Montana 3455SA as he describes.

Secondly, I purchased the 15 Rhinoflex swivel RV sewer kit only to find, when on the road, that it didn't fit the swing-out arm. What were they thinking? Should I just get a 10 foot system and an extention for when it's needed? Or, can I cut the current 15 foot one in some way? The Sewer Solution system looks cool but am wondering if it would be worth paying the $111 for the SewerSolution System from Plan 9, Inc. that have a small cosmetic flaw. What the heck is a small cosmetic flaw? I can also get it for a higher price at Camping World.

My main question is ... do I hook it directly to the outlet and completely bypass the swing-out arm or, do something that I saw above and attach it to the swing-out arm? Remember, I currently have a 15 foot hose that won't fit in that arm.

Yup, I'm a newbie at this!

I put mine on similiar to KT's with the following exceptions;
Cut off 8" of discharge pipe, installed twist on fitting ($3), installed twist on gate valve, cut the black protective hose to fit, ground off nubs on Rhino hose end fittings so it would fit inside carrier. Made discharge end so I'm able to remove it, see pic. Cut off Rhino hose as required so end mod will fit inside tube.
I also made an additional carrier bracket and bolted it to the frame instead to tying it up to the convience center floor. Bought and additional 46" carrier, bolted it to the RV frame forward of the modified carrier. It holds my spare 15' Rhono hose with caps.

KT showed me the way and I modified it to work for me. This forum is famous for great ideas.
Thanks,
Mike

Since we made our mods, we have been very satisfied. With our kitchen slide, we find that the swinging boom is very convenient - it allows me to connect the Sewer Solution without having to crawl underneath the slide. With this mod, and the one where we put in an electric valve for the galley tank, Kat figures that we have made our money back a couple of times by not having to buy new shirts for me; before, I would crawl underneath the slide and get dirt on my shirt or worse, catch it on the teeth and rip it.

Yes, that may be one thing that I forgot to mention. You have to grind a bit off of the flanges of the Rhinoflex fittings to allow them to fit inside the sewer boom pipe.

I have the original boom that came on my 2010 but I cut back about 4" on the rubber "elbow" so that it turned more freely toward the rear of the trailer. I use a clear fitting at the end of my hose just before it goes in the sewer dump hole.
