Dennis, just got off the phone with me, Linda is packing him up to head home from the hospital.
It was some kind of staff infection, they are still working on the exact strain and particulars.
Dennis said that he will call me and fill me in on the details after Linda gets him settled at home, but he is still a very sick man.... He did say that they are very concerned and he has to take continued treatment for some six weeks every day.
But I am glad my buddy is home... John

John,
Add Marge and I to the list of well-wishers and for a quick recovery for Dennis.

Incidentally, we were at the Amana Octoberfest. We were parked in the Amana Colonies RV Park, lot HW1.

I just talked with Dennis. He's on the mend but still swollen pretty badly. They're waiting the lab results from the cultures to figure out what happened and make sure he's on the right medications. He sounded pretty upbeat so that's a good sign.

Dennis is in our thoughts and prayers also. Glad to hear that he is home and getting better. Be sure and do what the doctors want and take all medications to kill that infection.

THANKS to everyone's thoughts and prayers. It's is nice to be back home. I am still very weak but the main thing is I am getting better. It Is rather fun having to type with one hand but I have plenty of time to do it now. When I was putting on my Sat dome I received a friction burn to my elbow. I did not treat it like my wife suggested. They think it was something in the roof material or what may have been growing on it.

Dennis, I had a simlar prob a few years back. Had bursitis in my elbow that the ER Doc opened and drained. Next day a raging staph infection. Arm swelled up bout twice its normal size. Was in hospital for 6 days with IV antibiotics. Finally went away. Be careful with that stuff, keep it clean and protected and by all means, do what the medics say.

I am glad you are home and hopefully on the mend.

Sherri You are right, I will listen next time.

Al & Nita that is right and see what happens when I did not do as told.

Phil, That is what I am fighting. Went back to the doctor yesterday and was told I was not out of the woods yet. He said I may have to go back in and have it drained again and be put back on a IV antibiotic. I sure am praying that don't happen.

Dennis, If they do have to open it up, they will probably want to flush it out, just make sure they use a STERILE water solution to do this. My therapist used tap water and I think that's where I got the raging infection. My doctor admitted he probably would have used sterile water himself. Got to keep an eye out for the partially trained, they are everywhere....

Good luck!!!!

Robbie & Alice Thanks and I am glad to be home also.

Ozz, I thought I was pretty tough also, but this sure kicked the bucket out from under me. I
bet it would help if I was where you are, smelling some good salt air and eating sea
food.

Phil My doctor said some of this maybe due to a lab tech. They took fluid from my elbow and
sent it off to be tested and it came back saying no bacteria. They then gave me
injections with stuff that you don't do if there is bacteria. If you do the bacteria
will go ape. Guess what it did.
