Pick It Up Tommorrow

Today we are getting ready to leave to pick up our Montana tommorrow. We pick it up in Los Angeles then off to Las Vegas for 4 days to check it out. We are going to stay at Sam's Town, great location and great locals casino. 150 mile drive to Los Angeles tonight and a 10AM pickup time. I hope to be out of Los Angeles by 1 or 2 pm, but no rush, I want to make sure all is right before we hit the road.

Looking forward to seeing other MOC member on the road. Will let you know how the shakedown goes.

Jim

Sounds exciting!

I like the maiden voyage idea! Unfortunately my garage is full of stuff to go in the new Monty, and I would have to haul it with me to the dealer for any kind of an extended stay. Ironically we will just stay in a hotel.

Good luck on your new adventure and keep us posted.

Getting a new one is always an exciting and nervous time. Best of luck and take your time with your PDI. Check every screen. Walk the roof and check both caps for scratches. Definitely use one of the PDI check list off the web page.
Good luck and tow safe,
Cheers,

Ahhh - scrapes. I'm sure there is probably scraps in the caps as well, judging from what fell out of the belly on mine. Just wasn't sure how to look in the cap to check for scraps without tearin it apart.

Silly me.

Brad, We too have a load to take. My long bed is full of toats. I tryed to explain to Carolyn that we need just minimual items, we would eat out and get what we needed there. By the time she packed bedding and her "nessesities" I've run out of room for any of my stuff. I did squezze in a small tool box and my cloths. Really looking forward to this adventure. Big change from a 22' Class C. My new Ford F350 Crew Cab is bigger than my old motorhome.

Hope to see you down the line.

Hope to see you too Jim! Have fun and be careful. That rig is about 25' longer and twists in the middle!

Jim, congrats on the new Tana. What a way to start the holidays. Biggest problems, which were minor and easily fixed, when I got my Tana three months ago were loose water connections for the shower, and sink faucets. The rechargable flashlight didn't work, and the fireplace motor was not functioning. If you have a drawer underneath the frig, which could open into slideout, have them put a latchbolt on the drawer to secure it for travel. My dealer suggested it to me because of past probelms of that drawer coming out during travel, causing slideout damage. I also had them raise my dining table two inches so I wouldn't bang my knees when I sat down. It seems all the Keystone dealers are eager to make you happy, even if they don't sell Tanas. Good luck, and we know you are going to have a great holiday. We will look for the Tana with the big red bow around it.

Picked up the Montana Friday, Everything with the PDI went well. Great orientation to the Rig, even the Galley Graywater tank relese handle. Only problem was the top hinge of a pantry cabinet door was missing its screws. So far after a weekend in Vegas no other real problems. Picked it up at M.T.'s in Santa Fe Springs, The sale's people were very helpfull. With our out of state delivery they set it up to take it to Sam's Town for us and absorbed the difference between Stateline and their.

While waiting for the driver for the out of state delivery I saw why the service department was lacking, The volume of rigs coming in was trumendous. They have a service load that is unreal. I guess that goes with being a high volume dealer. Not really the place I would want to take my Montana for work, just based on the work load they have.

I will let you all know more alittle later under another post.

Thank You all for your words of congratulations and encouagement.
