2006 Montana 2955RL

Hi everyone.
Will the Model 2955RL match up with an F350 4x4 without lowering the truck. Does anyone have this combo and does the Montana sit fairly level
behind an F350 4x4. Thanks, I am still shopping but I think the Montana is our first choice, it just seems lower than some other makes.

We have a 2002 Ford 250, XLT, 4X4, and hooked up to our new 2955RL. The trailer set level. Very easy pulling 5th wheel. Happy hunting. Have a Good Day

HI and Welcome Wrenchtraveller to the MOC Family.

Just wanted to say HI and welcome you to the forum. As you can see by my signature I pull our 2955 with a GMC so I'm not much help but that's OK as I see your question has already been answered by Paul Severson.

You say "I am still shopping but I think the Montana is our first choice". If you want my opinion you should also make it your last choice. Don't think you can do any better than the Montana.

Check our signature. No problems. The Monty sets level when towing and we have about 9" of clearance between the bedrail top and Montana. No aditional adjustments were needed on our truck.

Thanks, Sounds like my 05 F350 will work.
I have an offer on an 06 Montana 2955 RL but it is subject to our liking the interior color which is Spruce. We have been in an 06 Desert Sunset and loved it so we are hoping the Spruce will look as nice. If we don't like the Spruce we will do a factory order but I really hope this one will work because it has everything we want as far as options. Any comments on these colors and thanks for all the replies. This will be our first high end Fiver. We had several cheapos when the kids were small and we had a lots of fun in them but they were pretty junky when you compare them to a new Montana. Take care.

Wrenchtraveller,

Our dealer actually had the 2955 in stock in the spruce color but we much preferred the Desert Sunset. The Spruce just seemed a little dark. So we ordered one and he ended up just trading with another dealer in the country who was ordering it in for stock. That way we got it within two weeks.

Of course all this is based on individual choice so you may indeed love the Spruce color!

Wrenchtraveller,
An f-350 should definitely do the job for you. I had to bring my hitch up but only for additional clearance for our difficult driveway. Diana liked the dessert sunset color as well. The dealer had a similar color scheme in the 2005 but she just didn't like it as well. In the end we opted to order one and get exactly what we wanted. Seemed like it took forever to get here but it was worth the wait. Good Luck

If you already have the hitch installed in your F350, just go to the dealer and hook one up - then you will know for certain.

We tow a 3255RL with a '96 F250 powerstroke with no modifications or adjustments, and no problems.

The F350 will do a beautiful job for you. Ours is an F250 4x4 but the prior truck, a 2003 F350, was also 4x4. The Montana will sit level. Ours currently is just slightly nose high but that's a matter of adjusting the hitch. Most hitches have a height adjustment. Also the pinbox can be adjusted up and down. I thought about lowering ours a notch but it's so slighly high and I like the extra clearance over the bed rails. Ours has right around 8 to 9 inches of clearance.

It should do a great job for you. Many of us use a 3/4 ton to pull our rigs with and they do a good job of it also.
