The new guys...

Howdy!

My name's Pace, MrsSpoolin is my wife Kaite. We both have seriously been looking into purchasing a 3500RL to live in. I'm in the Army and my wife has the harder job, being an Army wife. Just trying to find out as much as possible before we make a purchase, if we do indeed end up buying.

Welcome to the MOC Forum. This is the best place to get the real skinny on the Montanas. The 3500 RL is a very popular unit. Whatever floor plan you use, you will be in good company. We appreciate your service to your country and hope your choice can be found at a good price from a reputable dealer. Happy hunting....

I will add our thanks for your service - we'd be nowhere without our guys in uniform!! As Stiles stated, this is a good place to get information on Montanas, both good and the drawbacks. The 3500RL is a beautiful unit and looks like it would be a comfy home on wheels. Part of the fun of Montana madness is the search and decision. Ask all the questions you need to and good luck.

SpoolinTurbo,
Welcome to MOC! HoAuh! There are many service men and women along with vets that are members of MOC. Lots of good people and good information here for the taking. Good luck on your hunt for a Montana.

Go Navy! I had to do that being a Navy Vet.

God Bless America

Another welcome, this one from an ex-AF guy. To parody Jeff's comment above, as opposed to "Hoo Auh", "FORE" is the combat cry of the AF. (Small personal jest..I'm allowed to poke fun at myself))

Be sure to check out the mil FAMCAMP system. Again, welcome!

Best Regards,

And from still another ex-Army guy, Welcome Pace and Kaite.

You came to the right place to find out as much as possible about the Montanas. So ask away, the folks on this site have everything you need to know, both pro and con, about the Montanas we love so much.

BTW-Rich, I got in just as they changed over to black. They apparently had a surplus of brown boots so along with the brown boots we were also issued steel wool to scuff the brown off and black leather shoe die to make them black. Making them black was actually the easy part. We were also issued a can of Kiwi black shoe polish. SPIT shining them was the tough part and they had to be ready for inspection in 3 days. Fortunately the low quarters were black.

Welcome to MOC! If you want information about Montanas, there are plenty of good people here who can help you. As for living in one—full–timing?—well, I am sure that someone will be by shortly to give you first hand reports on how that has worked for them.

We do not full–time, but we have found the Montana to be a very nice brand so far, not without small problems, but a wonderful place to go at night after enjoying the great outdoors!

Let me add my welcome aboard from a former sailor and thank you for your years of service on our behalf.

The 'battle cry' I remember, though, went something like "Ahoy the Club!"

Welcome and thank you for your service.
Am new to MOC myself (May). I also served, but unlike some, I started out in the Air Force (4yrs) then Finished my Mil career in the US Army retiring in 1984. Guess I am still confused as now I drive a School bus. (glutton for punishment I guess) Am still to young to retire retire but use my Montana as often as I can.

hey pace, my name is tim and i'm new to the MOC also. i'm 26 and in the Navy, but unlike you i don't have a wife. i figure if the Navy wanted me to have one, they'd issue one in my seabag! i bought a 06 3400rl about a week ago and am now a fulltimer down in pensacola, florida (now in jax, fl due to the hurricane). so far, i've traveled about 1,800 miles w/ the new 5er and barely got settled in before dennis hit. however, the short time i've been in the 5er, i have absolutely loved it!!! i think buying it and fulltiming is the best idea i have ever had. i'm sure you'll have the same experience if you end up buying one too.
