Roof vents

Our Roof electric vent lids stick and I have to climb onto the roof to get them loose. I have tried several things but nothing I do seems to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

The rubber gaskets in fantstic fans have a lubricant but I do not know what it is. Many use silicon or 303.

You could also try the spray made to keep slideout seals in good shape.

We use silicon spray one or twice a year and that seems to take care of it

They come with 303 in a little disposable pack. John

Send a message via MSN to rmthelen
303 about once a year seems to work well for us.

Contact Fantastic Fan they will send you a new gasket and adhesive. Older style gaskets had that problem and the new gasket fixes it.

Mine was sticking many years ago. I call Fantastic Vent and the lady said she would send me something to clean/treat the rubber gasket with. Turned out it was a small pouch of 303. Cleaned the gasket well and it has never stuck again. And I have only cleaned it once or twice since then.

If that doesn't fix it, then call. They have great customer service.

Bob-- While at one of the large RV shows a couple years back, I stopped in at the Fantastic Fan booth and talked to them about this very problem. They told me to open the vent, clean the gasket really well with alcohol and then use the packets they gave me. It was disposable packets of Aerospace 303 like those you get from casinos or seafood places with the small alcohol towels in them. I did as they told me and had no problems what so ever again with the vent. I did purchase some Aerospace 303 of my own and use it on the slide gaskets as well as all the vent cover gaskets on our unit and have had no problems what so ever from that point on. I'll swear by 303.
