Awnings or shades on windows????

I am planning window treatments on a few windows, I would like opinions from folks that have either:

Window shades

Window awnings

Want to keep Sun out when we wish.

Oz, we noticed a big difference when we installed the window shade you got for us. Biggest advantage right away was we could still see up the road with shades, and it made it much easier to cool

We've always had the Carefree window shade (the kind that rolls up like an old window blind) on our back window of my last 2 Montanas. They are easy to install and do a noticably good job in fighting Mr. Sun. You can easily see out but not in during the daytime. Come dark, you can see in as well. I have seen some units with velcro around the windows that hold the material in place, but I way more like the roll-ups both in function and appearance.

We have had Awnings on Bedroom and both Super slide window's they keep out Sun and Rain can keep the window cracked not to mention the privacy. At times depending on where we are at I would like one of those Sun Shades for the large back Window

Ahh, I can see one advantage of the window awning, the rain protection. They are twice the price tho..

At least with the rear awning being "embedded in the rear cap ... it keeps the rain out as well. With the shade pulled down, we can open ours during showers.

Drew ... the pull down shades do well at least in Kanas wind. There are two latches the bottom tube hooks to after you pull them down. The spring loaded shade is pretty taught by the time you latch it. It doesn't just dangle in free air.

Oz, I left windows open several times with shades down. Unless the wind really blew, we never had water come in.

Ozz I put awnings on ours, the only down side is if they are mounted to low and when they are opened the field of view is limited so install so when seated you can see out without any awling blocking the view. it has also helped keep the RV cooler in hot weather ei shields the exterior wall from the sun and rain cant get in the windows

I did make the call and ordered pull-down shades from Tweeties
Thanks for all the input and info. I have the attention span and patience of a 4 year-old, so I move fast.
