Send a message via MSN to Parrothead
I wouldn't be interested. I can set my own up if I want. Plus possible danger in sharing bugs.
Happy trails.............

OK I'll bite, what the heck is a favicon? without going into to much detail for the sake of the OP.

Ed, do you really think I would provide a bug to the forum?

Way to make the new guy feel welcome...

Don, a favicon is a tiny image that shows in a browser to the left of the address bar. The colorful stylized "G" that you see when you visit Google is a favicon. My favicon is here: http://number12hosting.com/

doofus,
You must be new to the forum, my educated guess would say that the replier was Sue, not Ed.

The link to your favicon didn't work.....sounds like a great idea for the forum.

Robbie,

Matters not who; hurt my feelings anyway.

Here's the favicon: . Bug and virus-free!

Sometimes a favicon needs a couple of "hits" before it displays on the address bar.

It's just a 16x16 pixel image... looks like the MOC logo, just eentry-weentsy. I've done several favicons for friends, as well as for myself. It's really a matter of having access to the home page's code. It would probably be a lot easier putting one on montanaowners.com than on this forum page. Open-source forum software like phpBB and SMF have little code snippets available that owners can insert into the forum code; I was able to insert a favicon into a phpBB forum that I did several years ago for a club to which I belong. I don't know enough about Snitz forums to know if that's an easy update for this brand of forum.

Hey, if you have time, please drop me an e-mail. I'd like to talk to you about camping in Washington.

Well, I see we have that little booger in the address bar. Really cool. Glad to see someone inserted the "favicon". I've seen those all over the web, just never knew what they were. Thanks Doofus.

Paul,
On behalf of the MOC we would like to thank you for the favicon. It adds a nice little touch to the Forum.

Thank you again,

I still do not know what to look for or where. Can you put a picture of it on here for us to know what to look for?

Doug, the favicon is the little icon in the tab....looks the same as the little picture that doofus posted in his message.

Here it is:

It is the little trailer on the left-hand side of the browser tab.

In addition to showing up on the tabs if you have a tabbed browser, it will also display to the left of the address bar and also in your bookmarks/favorites if you've saved the MOC in your bookmarls or favorites. Here's an image showing all three location.

I guess Firefox does not support the favicon's because I just have a blank piece of paper looking thingie there. Thanks for showing me what it looks like.

The favicon won't be visible while slow images are loading (like right now, when Photobucket is napping). You'll see the blank piece of paper looking thingie until everything loads; then it should pop up.

You will see it eventually, both in Firefox and Internet Explorer (I see it in both browsers).

Photobucket must be taking a long nap. The favicon has not loaded in either place and I have the forum open for quite a while.
