At NAS P'Cola

Got in about 1500 hours (Big and on 3, little hand on 12 for those so inclined) What a nice campground. Can't get satellite because of the trees though, but I told the wife she would have to put up with Normal Tv. Saw a cable outside, but I'm not going to mess with it to see if it works until tomorrow. She's presently happy watching Bones, and House.

Wow, Louisi-washboard-anna, is all I can say about I-10 through LA. Mississippi had some nice smooth roads, but watch out around the bridges. Alabama also had some nice roads. Texas? Well, I'm just used to Texas.

The Jets were powering up on the runway when we road in today. Could not hear each other speak shortly after unhooking.

Ah! I missed the white sands of the beach. Miya loves the water, but she did not know how to act with the quick drop off. Ha! Neither did DW!! I was safe in my tennis shoes just watching.

Met a Montana owner here in the park. Darn! Forgot the name already. He said he was a MOC member, but could not remember his password. His DW's name is Peggy.

Figure about $227 for fuel when I fill up tomorrow. There goes my retirement pay. I need to plan these trips so the months overlap.

Oh! I did! Won't be back until July.

You're in for a treat, Wayne. The Thunderbirds practice on Tues. and Wed. mornings, if they're home. They fly low and loud. Scared our wimpy dog half to death. Don't miss the Navy museum, if you haven't been there. It's awesome and the movies are great. It's worth a trip to Pensacola by itself. Have a great time.

Thunderbirds will not be practicing there! Blue Angels, maybe?!! Sorry. Blue Angels may be headed to Annapolis MD where we live, as USNA graduation is coming up very soon. We watch them from our porch. Agree re. Museum is a treat and the tour leaders are mostly retired Navy aviators and very informed.

We are going to hit it tomorrow morning.

Our primary reason for this stop was to visit some very "old" acquaintances, catch up on war stories, and enjoy our company. We heard them today, but were having breakfast in the Hanna with our friends. They really enjoyed seeing Hanna. We visited their beautiful stick house, with pool and large back yard. Miya was in doggie earth heaven, running around and getting her feet wet on the steps of the pool. A wimaranda (SP) visited from accross the street and tried to entice Miya to swim, but she was not having any of that "clean" water. Go figure, she'll romp inn the ocean, but not a pool, except her little kiddie pool.

Edited: That's okay, I've seen the Thunderbirds, and the Canadian (something)birds (Was that "snowbirds?" and we have seen the Blue Angeles a few times, but not here at P'Cola. The best one in the formation is the Marine Pilot, don't ya know!

I'm sure glad I'm not paying cash for fuel, I'd hate to see my cash be eaten up like that.

Thanks.
