I would like to see the skylight in the shower be tinted instead of clear

Tinted would be nice...and I'd like it to have some type of cover for the inside to keep the sun/security lights out.

I put a couple of layers of the large bubble-- bubble wrap in my skylight between the inner and outer parts. This helps dampen some of the outside light as well as some of the outside heat or cold.

We used small bubble-bubble wrap, works nicely. We did do a tint also but it gave the light a wierd look like being in the twlight zone, so we took that back off.

I used left over pieces from trimming my in ground pool solar cover, it has the bubble look, and gives it that nice blue color.

The inside bubble comes out, and you can line it with something. We used a piece of beige sheet, and it gives a nice diffused light.

I velcro the bubble covers over my skylight and Shur Flo vent we had installed in the hallway between shower and bivvy. I personally like the extra light the skylight provides during the day. Has become part of our nightly "get ready" routine.

Hi Pat and Virgil!
That skylight is actually two "bubbles". One is fixed in place in the roof. But the other comes down when you remove the screws you see while in the shower. You could put a couple of layers of bubble wrap between the two bubbles, like the others mentioned (we also did that on our prior Montana). I had a bit of trouble keeping the bubblewrap in place when replacing the skylight but once I taped the bubblewrap in place, no problem. And the tape did not show.
Or, you could remove it from the shower and spray the clear plastic with a spray tint of some kind. I'm not sure what's available but I'm pretty sure there's a spray window tint out there somewhere. This thing comes out easily.

Another solution, maybe not as elegent, but it works very well.
In our rig, the skylight is the same size as the door windows. They make the those foil insulated shades for them that attach with Velcro. I did the ceiling vents in the bath, bedroom, and the skylight with them and so far am very pleased. Blocks the light effectively for sleeping and is easily removable. I did try a few different methods, but like this one.
The adhesive doesn't stick long term to the plastic, but a substitute with the industrial model makes short work of that.

Thanks...I'm one of those that wakes with the sun, so having it dark aids my sleeping. When I'm out RV'ing, I would love to be able to sleep in, but it just isn't in the cards.

Ozzie, that's exactly what I was talking about in my post. Works great for me. We used the industrial velcro last Jun and it has stayed completely....

Ozzie, where did you get the foil shades at CW?
I think it would have been nice to have a fan like in the bathroom.
I like hot showers.

Yup Phil, after re reading your post I see that, I thought maybe you were using something different when you said bubbles. That stuff is rather hard to describe.
I found the product you are looking for Jack - they call them Solar Entry Door Window Covers
They do make different sizes too (links at bottom), but for larger side windows (back windows of 3400's) I remember seeing some kind of sun screen shade being used.

We have used a piece of white poster board (the kind that's corregated inside) attached with velcro. It still lets a little difused light in, but keeps the heat out. We first used the silver insulated bubble type, but got tired of looking at it.

Jack- If you go down to Menards, Lowes, Home Depot or any Ace Hardware store and ask for aluminum bubble insulation, they will sell you a roll of the stuff (16" X 25') for about the same price you buy the door bubble stuff. The only thing then is to cut it to the size you want, staple on some velcro (four corners or more and put some of the stick on velcro on the ceiling to match the stapled stuff and stick your covers up! Works great for me with mine-- keeps out the light and heat/cold from each and every vent and dome cover! To insulate the crank up vents even more-- go down to Wally World and buy some foam pillows, remove the cover, cut down to the size of the opening and stuff those up in there too. If you really want to be extravigant-- you can go to a furniture recovering business and buy some of their cushion foam- cut it to size and put it in the holes!
I still think Keystone needs to put a fan or opening vent in the shower area anyway!!

To get back to the original intent of this thread...Keystone should put some type of removable cover over the skylight.

Keystone should put a fixture, either wood or plastic that can slide closed, or be left open.
