Utah - Capitol Reef to Bryce

We've been visiting the parks in Utah and are heading out tomorrow morning from Capitol Reef to Bryce. I know we read something about Route 12 on MOC but cannot find the thread using the search engine.....

We appreciate any feedback on this route.

As I recall, around Escalante you'll drive the "Devil's Backbone". It's a beautiful drive! It had some grades and dropoffs, but the scenery is worth it. We did it with a 3400, so you'll be fine.

Aptly named the Devil's Backbone! It's beautiful, but keep your speed down. Lots of swithbacks and dropoffs on both sides, but they take kids to school in a bus over that road in wintertime, so it's doable. We did it in our 2955 with no problems. There's a little wide spot in the road called Boulder, if I recall. Has a cute little retaurant and an Indian museum across the street.

Once you get off the Interstate, Utah is a beautiful place, isn't it?
