Shore Power Plug Receptacle

As I was recently plugging in my 50 amp power cord, I noticed that the male receptacle attached to the Monty was loose. I could tighten the two left-side screws but those on the right seemed to be "stripped" and the screws wouldn't tighten up. Those on the left are possibly attached to a stud and those on the right just into the fiberglass body. Anyone else come across this? Any suggestions as how best to "anchor" the screws on the right side? Thanks for your suggestions.

I think you have the small lamp table between the two recliners, you can take the front panel off to check out what is wrong. What you can do if possible is use small bolts and use washers and nuts on the back side. What I would do is use 3/4 plywood, cut a hole in it for the cord to go through, and replace the screws, make sure all power is off. I'm sure you will get lot's more suggestions, enjoy your camper and have fun.

Larry & LaVonne:: On the 3575RL, the receptacle is located on the rear street-side, just forward of the tail light. Sorry I didn't specify receptacle location in original post. I was thinking of doing what you suggested: use two small bolts with washers through the holes in the fiberglass and nuts and washers on the receptacle side and use the "standard" screws on the left side.

Mel: Thanks for taking the time to look at your rig and making suggestions. That's what I like about this forum!!

Yes that would be the ease way to fix it with the location the shore line. I like your positive attitude toward the forum & Montana we need to see more of this. Good Luck & Happy Camping.
