New montana owner

We are from Illinois and pick up our 2007 montana 3500rl Nov 16th it is our 1st fifth wheel one we hope to live in when I retire in 2 years. We started looking at full time 5th wheels but the price of new and just a few years old had me running for the door. So we started looking at prices instead of the year. This one was a one owner looks like it was taken care of and in our comfortable price zone. I can't wait until sat Saturday to pick it up and start putting our stuff in it. It will be a long winter until we get to go camping with it. But I'm sure this layout will work better than our travel trailer we have now.

A strong suggestion, look at the tires and make sure they are not from 2006 or 2007. If they are, they need replaced immediately. Trailer tire life is 4-5 years regardless of tread wear. Do some reading on problematic tire brands (Marathon, Mission, Freestar, and others). Welcome to the forum and we hope your forthcoming reports of your adventures are trouble free ones. We had a 2007 3400RL that came from the factory with Mission tires.

Welcome and we hope your new rig gives you many years of wonderful memories. Besides the tires, check the battery or batteries also. Not a good thing to not be able to open or close your slides because the battery should have been replaced.

Bingo is right! Careful with your tires! You have chosen well in a Montana. Happy camping!

One of the first things I checked were the tires they are from 011 so I get a couple years on them before I replace them

Another welcome from here. We have an '07 3075RL that we have been extremely pleased with. And I second (or third) Bingo's comment about the tires. Ours came with Mission tires. But after reading all the Mission blowout reports I replaced them with Michelins after a year. And Marathons have a similar failure history.
There are a number of tire related posts you can search and see what others have replaced their OEM tires with.
