Why can't the Awning always cover the entry door??

Looked at many new Montana's at RV Traders in Mesa AZ today.
Noticed that they still design them such that the entry door is so close to a slideout that the patio awning won't cover the door completely so it fails to keep the steps dry even in a light rain.
Why can't the door be positioned so its always covered by the awning?

I know it sucks BUT They can't because then the door would be in the stairway....OR they would have to shorten the slide.....No Way SOOOOO it is what is ,my buddies SOB is the same way ,we are on the Coast and the Rain and Wind goes Sideways so I cannot see a way to avoid a way to avoid getting rain on the stairs Even if thy could put the awning all the way over he stairs,Actually my awning is over the stairs (as you can see in my pic) but it will not stop the sideways rain, Good luck finding ANY SOB or Montana that will have a awning to keep the stairs dry (and I would know I live in the NW)
