Cold Weather Camping
We don’t normally camp in very cold weather. But we find ourselves in Grants Pass, Oregon for next 4 days, where the lows will go into the mid-20’s, with highs in the upper 40’s. Our tanks are not separately heated. If I disconnect the water hose at night, and keep the trailer warm, will we be OK? Or do I need to move to the Oregon coast to get to warmer temps?

Our 2010 didn't have heated tanks and we never had any problems. If it was going to be in the twenties we just made sure that the furnace did most of the heating, particularly at night.

Using your propane heater should help keep the tanks warm enough. In my opinion seeing that the temps are only in the twenties at night time and back above freezing (40's) during the daytime probably not to much of a chance of freezing issues. You can always run heat tape on freshwater hose or just use the tank with your 12v pump. I get more worried with temperatures that stay below freezing for prolonged periods or really drop at night time like into the single digits or low teens.
See what your neibors are doing.

Thanks for the quick replies. Guess I won’t worry too much.

We have been down to below 0 with not heating pads and have not had a problem. Just make sure the furnace is doing your heating.

If your underneath vent is working properly, your furnace should keep your tanks and plumbing from freezing.

As to the hose, I stayed in W. Yellowstone once and it got below 30. The hose was slushed until about 10-11:00 in the morning and that was with sun warming it up. So the hose may not freeze, but you won't have water too early.

Wouldn't really consider mid 20s and above freezing during the day real cold weather camping. You should not have any issue with water as long as you are running the heater to keep yourselves warm. The heater will do better than the heat pump as it dumps more heat in the basement.
