What We Learned at Western Spring Rally

We attended the western spring rally in Heber City this year, this is the first rally we have attended. We learned several things:

-Jim Bender, Kristi Silver, Cal and Leanne Jones did great jobs as Wagon Masters putting on an entertaining, informative and very positive event that all seemed to enjoy.
-If you have put off attending a rally, maybe its time to reconsider - they are a lot of fun and you will meet some great friendly people.
-Based on discussions with other attendees, almost all Montana owners are very happy with their rigs. We tend to see more negative on the forum but the folks out using them regularly are pretty satisfied and proud of their rigs.
-Tim Domiano, the western region rep from Montana bought us all a BBQ dinner with wine, beer and sodas. He gave us an update on some of the future plans for Montana and also spent some time one on one with a few individuals discussing their questions and issues. A few high points; a decision to include disc brakes as part of the legacy package is likely in the near future, an option to have no carpeting in the rig other than the slides is in work & all new Montanas will include day/night shades. I am sure there were more I can’t remember.
-Heber City and Mountain Valley RV Park are great places and definitely worth a visit. The weather was perfect with lots of different things to do and see very close including Park City, Sundance, Mirror Lake, Strawberry Reservoir, bike trails, fly fishing, ATV trails & zip lining to name a few. The resort itself had two pools, two hot tubs, basketball, pickle ball, two dog runs and two large clubhouses. Part of the park is adults only and all of it is super clean, they even do daily trash pickup at your site.

So if they put day/night shades on ALL Montanas that means they are removed from Legacy package but not likely to lower package price and then they add disc brakes to package and likely raise package price by 4k or so? Then will they charge an option fee to delete carpet and just use the flooring that is under the carpet if not deleted anyway? Sounds like a SWEET deal for them to me?

BTW your report was very good and informative.

Many Montana owners are happy with their rigs ... but when you compare a few dozen rally attendees to a nation wide sampling of owners like on a website ... you get a better overall picture and more stories good and bad. All RV manufacturer's quality has faded a bit in recent years.

Hundreds of people attend rallys yet thousands of people own Montana's.

The MOC Rally Calendar http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=72681 lists all the 2018 rallies. The next one is the Central Plains Regional Rally starting July 14th.
