Rio Grande Valley

Planning on spending January in the RGV. Never been there before. Any suggestions on a place to stay. We aren't into lots of amenities. Needs: WI-FI,friendly people, cable TV(not absolutely necessary), laundry, FH, golf course near by, trees, but bet they don't exist in valley. Not into shopping, but love museums, old homes, and history.

Go to the Rio Grande Valley Directory at MOC Camping Clubs topic. A listing of where we are staying in the valley is posted.
You can also google Rio Grande Valley Campgrounds and come up with a lot of places. Others will be giving you ideas also. I can suggest J Five Campground on Taylor Rd. We also have a MOC member (Jim and Marcia) staying there this winter.

The extended weather forecast for the RGV is much warmer than normal

Thanks Bill and Ann. Never thought to go there and now I have more ideas than I can shake a stick at.

It was about 78 yesterday here on Padre Island, we slept with the A/C on last night. Very pleasant weather.

We will be at Winter Ranch in Alamo TX. They have a 9 hole golf course there. Also Trophy Gardens are next door and the two are sister RV parks. Both have WIFi that is extra but no cable.
