Keystone e-mail about frame flex *update*

I'm looking for Keystone e-mail address, so I can send some pictures of a problem I'm having with the frame by the bedroom slide. Any help would be appreciated.

If I knew how to post some pictures of my problem I could post them so I could get some more advice on how to get it fixed.

Larry,
Go to www.keystone-montana.com Under their home page is a link for "contact us." Select the catagory of Service/parts/warranty, fill out the form and click submit. Keystone should be calling you back with the provided phone number you give them.

Larry,

Make sure the size of your pictures are not too large, specialy if you are sending more then one.
Some servers only allow up to 10 MB at one time

Larry,
Is the fiberglass cracked by the slideout? If so, this is a known problem and a call to Keystone should set you up to get it fixed. They've fixed a lot of them at no cost to the customer, even when out of warranty.

Since this is an 05 unit the stress relief should have been incorporated. If you are still getting a bedroom side crack I would think it is a more serious frame flex problem. Let us know how Keystone responds to your problem.

I called Keystone and they kind of gave me the run around with saying take it to your dealer. Today I received an e-mail from Keystone asking for some pictures, I do have an appointment with my dealer the 27th. Will keep you all posted on the out come. Larry & LaVonne

I think this might differ from the problem fixed by the stress relief. Ours has the stress relief but still had the overhang frame problem. Larry, they sometimes are very slow responding to email. I'd recommend a call. I emailed about a month ago and never heard back.

Steve

I e-mailed first, then called Keystone with (brush off) take it to your dealer and they can take pictures and send to Keystone, so made an appointment at my dealer. Today I received an e-mail from Keystone wanting pictures, so I sent them. Larry & LaVonne

Thanks to a Great friend, (I hope) helped me with adding pictures. Here is pictures of the frame flex. The pictures were taken when the camper was hooked up to the truck. When you unhook the camper it all goes back together. What is your opinion on my problem? I think I need some help. Larry & LaVonne

Larry & LaVonne,
Taking it your dealer is hardly a "brush off" or a "run around". It is pretty much standard operating practice.

The pictures clearly show that there is a serious frame issue. The fact that one section of the frame is actually pulling away from it's normal position indicates there is frame damage. Usually broken welds are the cause.

I'm sure Keystone will make good on this issue. Please keep us informed.

Well, yesterday I finally got around to washing and cleaning the BIG SKY of all the Rio Grand Valley dust and dirt... But to my amazement I also found some frame flexing on the door side of the RV, about a 1/8" flex... I was up in the area where my dealer is and I stopped in to get some good soap and also a replacement for the black tank flush valve... I mentionned to him about what I saw and he immediately gave me an appointment for next sweek and also mentionned that it is covered under the Lippert Frame warranty and also under the Keystone warranty even though my keystone warranty is out of date by a year... It pays to have a good dealer who stands behind his product, Cornwall Camping Centre...

Yes it was a little dusty in the Rio Grand Valley, great to hear from you and your doing well. I thought you might not be too well after you ate half a pan of my wifes o henry bars. Ha

We have an appointment the 27th and I hope my dealer will help us out, it sounds like you have a great dealer. Will keep you all posted on the out come.Larry & LaVonne

I am still waiting to hear from Keystone to let me know if they will repair my flex problem. They keep telling me that I should not have any problem getting authorization but I have not gotten the phone call yet.

Good pictures, Larry. Looks like the same problem to me. Ours would open up when hitched and close up when not. Just as you said.
(you bet!)

Crusin2, are you getting any seperation in the corners of the overhang where it turns down to the lower frame? Ours did that and created all sorts of other problems as we towed it to the factory for repairs. At every stop we would find from one to three other items that were damaged, ended up at the factory with 48 other things to fix beside the frame problem, so go over everything with a fine tooth comb--luckily we had a good tech who pointed out damage that we would probably not caught. Besides giving the factory a list of defects, we taped 3 X 5 cards with red tape next to the defects with notes as to what was wrong---still didn't fix about eight items which we never got repaired since Keystone didn't want to stand up to their verbable warranty. Get any additional warranty in writing. They should give you 90 days on any work they do.
