Added a fan switch to the furnace

I like to run the furnace fan to circulate stale air, or even out the temperature in the trailer independently of the furnace heat operation, so I ran two wires to the furnace control board, tapped into the hot wire (Red on my board) and the fan wire, typically Green.
I installed a Red rocker switch on my lighting control board for it. We use it all the time. I also added a Red indicator light to show when the 'Scare' light it on, (which is almost never on) I don't want to shine it and bother my neighbors. Hate it when my neighbor leaves theirs on all night.
I also added a Green indicator light to show when the outside door, or porch light is on. There is a switch for a small light for the bottom step also.

Ozz sounds ambitious! Regarding your heater blower mod, how "sturdy" is that blower?? Real question is, any danger of burning out the fan motor? Michael

They are made to run until they fail... ha ha.. Sometimes I just like to amuse myself.
Searially, they are made well, I don't think it will shorten it's life much.
I change them out for a living, some have been in 20-25 years. I wouldn't be concerned.

The thermostat in our Montana allows us to run the fan only...not sure if that is just for the ACs or for the furnace only. I'll have to check that out when we set up next time...thanks, Ozz.

Michael, My unit is 4 years older than yours but my fan setting on the thermostat is for the air conditioner fan only. Jim

Ozz,
Your furnace fan mod would also allow heated air to be blown into the tank areas when heating with electric heaters
keeping the pipes ect. from freezing.
In KS we would set the thermostat a few degrees over the setting on our electric heaters and it would cycle regularly.
Only problem is we used a few gallons of propane each week. Got to do your mod.
Tom
