Montana Awnings

We have a 2014 Montana FB3900. Would anyone out there know if a second awning can be added to the door side (dinette and sofa) slide out? I see other RVs with 2 awnings and I think that's a good idea. We are currently seasonal on a site that gets hot sun on that side all day. An awning on the slide out would help shade the windows. Thanks for reply.

We had one installed on our 2013 3402 Big Sky last winter in Florida.

You should have power in the slide for lights etc so they should be able to get power to the awning. The new Montana's are coming with a second awning and LED lights there.

I agree there is already power in the slide. I am looking into doing the same thing to my 2011 3455sa.

Keep it simple and just install a manual awning

Yes. See all the time in many brands. Comes standard in certain Montana floor plans.

Personally, I would only do a manual awning, not an electric.

I had an electric awning installed in Quartzsite several years ago. For power, we hooked into the lighting circuit. It didn't work well, there wasn't enough juice. The following year at our Q rally they came back and we ran a separate line directly to the batteries. Works great now. If I would do it over, I would do a manual awning. My cost was around $1200 and was installed by ShadePro. My wife still likes the electric model, so guess who would prevail!

Yep did the manual awning and never looked back. Works great and a lot more stable than the electric one.
