30 A + 15 A power cord

Adventure RV has a power cord advertised on sale. It is a 50 A female on one end with a 30 A male and 15 a male on the other. While we have yet to stay in a park with only 30 A service I am sure we will sooner or later and wonder if anyone has found that having this cord would be advantageous. TIA.

Those used to work and give you a little extra amperage but they won't work on ground fault plugs that are now required on campground power feeds. If you run into a campground that does not have ground fault plugs then it will be useful. Otherwise out of luck.

As mtlakejim notes, those will not work unless you stay at an older park that doesn’t have GFCI outlets. But staying at a 30 amp park is not really a problem with a standard 50-30 adapter. The only real restriction is not being able to run both A/Cs. Running one A/C and the water heater on propane you will generally be fine as long as you don’t operate multiple other high current items simultaneously such as microwave, electric skillet, clothes dryer, hair dryer, etc. No big deal if you trip the park breaker. Just note what you were doing at the time, reset the breaker, and try not to do that again.

Of course not being able to run both A/Cs and still be comfortable can be a problem in TX, it can be done even in the hottest months. Ideally you find shady sites.

"Cheater Box". Above information is why they're on sale!

Since we went full time 7 years ago, we've never stayed in a campground they would work in.

Donated mine to non profit thrift store. Got tired of hauling it around for 6 years and not one place I could use it!
