Campfire in a can

Searched for previous threads, but did not find any.

Does anybody use this product?

http://www.campfireinacan.com/

Comments and recommendations, please.

We camp in quite a few places where you cannot bring your own firewood or wood fires are prohibited.

Thanks in advance.

Joe, we have one. Works OK, but a little on the heavy side. Carried it many miles and only used it a couple of times. It does give you the nice glow of a fire, but not the heat you would get from a real wood fire. If you're just looking for the glow it's fine, but if you also want warmth, not so much.

We have a similar product (Outdoor Fireplace). It's about 20 ins. tall by 10 ins. dia. Very light and easy to move. Good ambiance and has firestones that put off some heat. Walmart. Larry PS I went to Sam's and Walmart sites, couldn't find one like ours. It's about 5 yrs. old.

We have one and "it is great". When I connect to my RV propane supply the RV regulator appears to provide less fuel than the manufacturer's regulator. Weight wise it is lighter than carrying firewood. Great visual effect - heat is much better than their smaller model. No problem with heat damaging the support surface - grass, patio mat, etc.

We have one and love it! We get a lot of burn-bans here in Texas and we enjoy sitting around the fire. I do agree it is no substitute for the real thing, but it is great when you want a fire an either no time to make/tend one or rules prevent a regular fire. It is a good quality product that is easy to setup and/or pack away.

Here is another brand of firepit. I picked this up a few months ago since so many CG's won't let you have wood fires any more. And since I must have a fire as part of my camping experience, I keep this onboard all the time. My wood firepit stays home unless I know in advance I can have a wood fire.

Price also includes the carry bag and lava rock.

We have the one that Camping World carries: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...campfire/34763

While not as nice as a real campfire, it sure helps set the mood in places where they aren't allowed.

I think there are a few advantages to the one you are looking at, I like the longer hose on it and the fact you can set it on the lid for increased height.

I have one also they give you the camp fire look but if you want heat you have to place yourself very close to it. if you are looking look fot the higest BTU's you can get.
I think they just look nice and use a lot of propane.
