Wallpaper Border

Has anyone removed the wallpaper border that is at chair rail height in their rig? And if so, how did you do it, what procedure did you use and how difficult was it? A section of ours has become damaged and needs to be removed. The damaged portion is relatively small (about 2 ft). Although I have repaired it a couple of times it continues to get torn and I figure it would be better to remove it rather than continuing to repair it.

Jack

Mine just pulled off, and that was after a couple of years, BUT, the stuff left on the wall was the stickiest nastiest stuff I have ever had the displeasure to work with, or work against.

Carol,
What did you use to get the sticky stuff off? I was thinking of "Goo Gone"

I found NOTHING that took it off

FlaNative did find something, some orange stuff, not sold retail, she begged some off the manufacturer. I am sorry, I do not remember the name.

Other MOC'ers report they have removed with variety of goo off type products, but NONE worked for me.

I took all of ours off. Used odorless mineral spirits. It sofened it up and then you just have to scrape the heavest of it off with plastic scraper. Use more spirits keep rubbing till its gone.

Jackel1959,
I think Carol is referring to a product called "Orange All" made by IndTek/Apollo technologies. I removed the boarder in our privy room and used the Orange all and it worked really well. Carol is right about not being able to just buy it. I couldn't find it so I called the mfg @ 770-433-0210 to ask about where I could get it. The lady I spoke to was very nice. She put me on hold for a min. and then came back and said they don't sell it retail, but.... she would send me some free of charge! I got 4 14oz cans! Now, this was almost 2 yrs ago, (I still have 3 cans), so I can't say they will do the same... but it sure can't hurt to give them a call! Good luck.

There is a product for medical use that removes tape marks and glue. I don't know the name but they are orange or citrus based. Used them for many years in the medics and at home. Check witha medical supply house....

We put all new boarder in our unit. Didn't remove a thing...simply put the new pretty stuff over the old ugly stuff. Looks great and was "easy as pie!"
