Wireless Remote
I noticed on the Big Sky Pkg. there is a Wireless remote now. I think it is a new remote device to control the auto levelers, slides and the other operations. Does anyone have this remote yet?
My question is can you control all the remote functions with a smart phone, tablet or laptop?
I have heard talk of this coming to the Montana. Some high end rigs have had this for sometime.

I have the small "key fab" remote with my 3400, and it's basically useless. You have to get out of the truck, and "turn it on" at the Monty before it will work. This new one looks totally different. I guess we'll read about it on this forum in the near future.

I am trying to figure out why one would want to use a tablet or a phone. Why not just use the remote that comes with the unit? I suppose I can see myself losing the remote, but cannot think of another reason. It does take those funky batteries so if it goes dead I suppose thats another reason.

With our older remotes with buttons we could control each function of setting up. As I understand it the remotes now does not allow as many functions as the older remotes. Someone can tell me if this isn't true.
The idea of a wireless WiFi type remote, more functions could be controlled. Including hydraulic and electric slides and even raising and lowering the rig as you back under it like we can do with the old push button style remote.
If you have a WiFi system on board the coach many more systems could be controlled and easier. Who knows one day you might see a touch screen panel in the coach that is programmable.
I'm always a sucker for new technology.

I thought the Big Sky Package had been scrapped. I like the remote that came on our 2012.

I'll stray off topic slightly. The Big Sky is still available. Appears there are the normal updates that happen from time to time like the remote system along with other items.
One can order a 3150RL Big Sky if they so desire. I have a build sheet from a dealer I picked up this past week with the models available with the Big Sky Pkg.

we have a 2011 montana 323rl high country and it came with the hand remote: we use it to set up with it will lower or raise the front stabilizer jacks, the rear jacks, all 3 slide outs and the outside scare lites, love having it in the truck and just back up and lower with the remote when close and then finish hooking up. the new ones with phone or wifi i havent seen but who knows these days.

We got one with our 13 3402 Big sky and we have never used it.I am afraid of what might happen if I start pushing buttons.

Hey everyone, back in the saddle, after neuro surgery and loss of my mother in Nov. I use my remote, every time I set up / tear down. It's easier to walk around and view the progress of all slides. After my "slide adventure" last July, I watch them! It's perhaps the most useful item they an offer!
