Report after 2 months 6,000 miles

As I reported before, we took delivery of our 2012 Montana 3750 on April 6 th there about . Took it from Texas to New York. Took the long way home back to Redding Ca. Some 45 nights. Took it to San Francisco Bay area for my son and daughter in-law to use while waiting for their apartment to be ready. Picked it up today brought it home to Redding. Leaving next week to Tahoe Ca. At risk of upsetting people, I felt necessary to report the many problems we have experienced. First the small plastic strap that holds the sewer cap, while it's off the pipe, had come out of its fitting. Caused me to "bend over" and put it back on! ( can you believe it)! Oh very large 1/2 inch scratch on a bathroom cabinet door facilitated replacement, well it took two entire days for Keystone to ship to Redding and replace! Oh they sent all the cabinet doors for cabinet so they would match. Probably why it took two full days! Last those boneheads that put our Fifthwheel together, left out a "Hictory Screw Cap" off the railing going up to LR. Thank the good Lord, it was behind the couch not visible or it would have drove me nuts! Then they sent several caps...not just the one I needed! This unit is plagued with issue!!! Ok. I am not making fun of anyone and really this was meant in good fun. That said Keystone builds a fine product and or my dealer did one heck of a PDI. Very happy with my trailer and should problems exist Keystone and my local dealers will get me through it! Oh I forgot! The black tank sticker was on gray tank...ya I caught it before a problem occurred! good luck all !!

Michael,
It sounds like you got a real "lemon"! Too bad! And you didn't even have your rig stolen! Some folks just have all the luck!

Greg,
I couldn't help myself! You'll get everything squared away soon and be out there enjoying meeting all your fellow MOCERS. Travel safely, Dennis.

LOL no problem Dennis. If I couldn't laugh at all my bad luck, I'd be crazy(ier) by now...

...But ten people owe me for all their good luck, because I have the bad luck of all ten of them!

Greg your story is epic! Really hope your Montana turns out great. Hey these machines have lots of things that can go wrong! Just think the guys who stole yours can't get things covered under warranty! Take care!

I feel for you, you pay for the leveling system so you won't have to bend over and then you have to bend over to put the strap back on the sewer pipe. Sounds like you are enjoying your Montana.
Hope it serves you well for many years.

I would not be happy at all if my little strap broke and i had to bend over to fix it. I'd probably get a longer strap and attach it to a window. Good luck with your new Monty.

Greg that is a good report and we need more folks to do those kind of reports. We have indicated we will do the same with our new 3402 Big sky and let the issues fall where they may. Having been fortuate enough to have attended every fall rally since 2006 we have seen the improvements in these things. These are better 5th wheels in nearly all respects.

However your issues even though small are issues that quality control should have caught and those were visable defects.Think about the things we can not see behind panels, the underbelly, the roof.
Having seen the quality inspection stations on the line with all those littel red tags on the unit we wonder whay those folks did not see those small defec ts.that is why they are there.

Lucky you caught the cap in time, mine didn't have one. But I had a spare in the shed but it don't got a strap on it. When I get tired of getting down on my knee to take it off and put it in the hose storage bin I'll spring for a new one, but figure since I am down there anyways to hook up the hose it ain't a big deal lol lol.

Glad you had a fun trip and are getting the rough edges smoothed out. Hope you get many years and many happy memories out of your rig.

My sewer cap O-ring finally gave out so I bought a replacement at Camping World. The little hole in the attachment line where it goes over the nubbin so it can fall off was too big and will not stay on.May have to super glue so I don't lose new cap. After day and night shade fell down and took out curtain brackets I'm going to have to use the tooth pick and glue other members have used. Great info on this forum.
