2nd AC Height to 13_4
I'm told by a few dealers I have received quotes from on our 2012 3582 that adding a 2nd AC brings the roof up to 13 feet 4 inches, a rise of 7 inches from the stock 12 feet 9 inches.
Does 13'4" limit our route selections significantly? We are hopeful of using the US Highway system rather than interstates. Are we looking for trouble here?
Thanks!

You may want to look at a low profile unit for the front unit.

We added a second a/c this year and that's the height we ended up at. So far it hasn't been a problem. I'm really careful around Gas Stations.

Ours is 13' 3.5", we have never had a problem in over 30,000 miles of towing.

Ours is 13'2" and has just made us aware of low bridges etc. This site has been helpful ( http://www.allstays.com/c/low-cleara...ations-map.htm) The second air has not affected our destinations just made the routes more interesting...

We have had ours for 4 years and no problems. I use the Rand McNally Truckers Atlas and be sure to keep my eyes open for low clearance signs. Here in Casa Grande, AZ I took the Montana to have the black tank changed out. Before taking the trailer down I drove the route, thru town, and went under a train bridge marked 14', HOWEVER, in the other direction it said 13'3", I had to return a different way after picking the trailer up. Just keep alert while driving and you should be OK. Of course, we usually stick to the main routes between sites. I know I missed alot of the country that way but I was safe, for sure.....The Low Profile, after market add on units, may fill the bill also....

I always want more than 14'. When I worked in trucking we had a driver peel a straight truck back because he trusted the clearance signage. They had done an overlay and he ended up two inches short.

Last year towing on rte 93 north through Boston, we came up to a tunnel which was marked with 13'6" clearance. Recalling the data sheet on our Montana stated 12' and inches, I thought we were fine with at least half a foot clearance. The data sheet did not include the forward a/c! Turns out we cleared the tunnel with TWO inches to spare. Like others have stated, we need to know our height and watch the clearance signs.
